What is in it

Fourteen pages · eleven sections

    Cover.Property, instructing party, job and claim reference, attendance date and time, report date, document reference and revision, the pilot's name and ReOC number.
  2. 02
    Instruction and attendance details.Who instructed what, who was present, access, weather at capture, the aircraft and sensors flown, the airspace check, the flight log reference.
  3. 03
    Scope and limitations.What was inspected, what was not accessible and why, and what the report is not — no cause, cost or cover, no structural adequacy, no certification.
  4. 04
    Site plan / orthomosaic.The building from above with every observation pinned by its schedule number.
  5. 05
    Executive summary.Red / Amber / Green counts and the condition observed, in one page a reader who was not there can rely on.
  6. 06
    Schedule of observations.Numbered. Location and elevation, element, condition observed, rating, photo reference. Describes condition — never cause or repair.
  7. 07
    Photo schedule by elevation.North, east, south, west, roof planes. Each frame with its index number, capture time and GPS position.
  8. 08
    Thermal page.Radiometric frames with emissivity, ambient temperature, sky condition and time stated, and the note that thermal is qualitative unless certified.

    Media index.Every file supplied: file name, type, capture time, position, elevation, subject, schedule item.

    Attendance record.Times on and off site, persons present, conditions, sign-off.

Read it knowing

Three things about the sample

  • It is a mock. "1 Example Street, Wongaling Beach" is not a real property and no real inspection took place. Every page says so. The observations are written to show the register — what a Red, an Amber and a Green read like — not to describe a building.
  • The photographs are placeholders. Hatched boxes with the caption, index, time and position a real frame would carry. A real report carries the real frames.
  • The caveats are the point. Read the scope-and-limitations page and the thermal note. What the report refuses to say is what makes the rest of it worth relying on.
