Licences and approvals.
Aviation
- ReOC
- CASA Remote Operator’s Certificate 9231, Aerial Work. Current to 30 June 2029. Held by Elevated Imagery; verifiable on CASA’s public register of ReOC holders.
- Chief Remote Pilot
- A nominated Chief Remote Pilot on the certificate (CASA Form 101-04 approval). The accountable position for the operation: operations manual, standing procedures, airspace authorisations and per-flight risk assessment.
- RePL
- Remote Pilot Licence, multi-rotor, manual and automated modes. Issued 22 February 2024.
- AROC
- Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate under CASR Part 64, issued 19 February 2024. English language proficiency (GELP).

Site safety
- JSA and SWMS
- Job safety analysis and activity safe work method statements on file. A job specific SWMS and a site authority form are issued for every engagement, before we arrive. Available on request.
- Mine and quarry sites
- On a Queensland coal mine or quarry the site’s safety and health management system governs. We work inside it, under the site senior executive’s authority, with the SWMS aligned to it.
What is flown, and what is not held.
The aircraft flown on each job is named on that job’s SWMS and in the report’s attendance record.
Multi-rotor aircraft
Deployed to suit the job, for roof, elevation and site sets. GNSS position and capture time written into every frame at capture (non-RTK).
DJI Phantom 4 Standard
Carried for orthomosaic runs where a job needs a site plan. Same numbering, same metadata discipline.
DJI Osmo Action
Ground level and handheld stills and video, indexed with the same numbering as the aerial frames: elevations, interiors, attendance.
Photogrammetry
Orthomosaics and elevation models where a job needs a site plan. Originals are never overwritten; report images are crops or annotations of the originals.
Not held, stated plainly
- Thermal and moisture instruments. Thermal will be available: a thermal capability is being added to the kit and is not quoted until the instrument is in hand. No moisture meter is held.
- Thermography certification. Level 1 is not held and is not claimed.
- RTK or survey grade positioning. Positions are GNSS, not survey grade.
The rules every job runs under.
CASA rules
CASR Part 101. Every flight is planned, risk assessed and airspace checked before take-off. ReOC 9231 operations run under the nominated Chief Remote Pilot and the operations manual. Authorisations are obtained where required, and the job waits if they are not.
Standard conditions
Below 120 m above ground, within visual line of sight, in daylight, clear of uninvolved people and never over them. Anything outside those conditions is flown only under a specific approval, recorded in the attendance record.
People and privacy
Property and damage only. No filming of people, no covert capture, ever. Occupants and neighbours are told what is being flown and why. Imagery is used for the instructed purpose.
Cairns to Gladstone, by road.
Based at Mission Beach, between Innisfail and Cardwell. Travel is included within 100 km of Mission Beach by road; further afield it is quoted in writing.
Own vehicles, no airfares, no hire cars, no half day of travel billed at professional rates. After a declared event the highway may be cut. Mission Beach is inside the corridor, so the question is which side of the cut the job is on, not whether the airport is open.
